Dar Bar with Photos
Chicken curry, lamb curry and chicken tikki marsala. All was good but both Jennifer and Eric Chu want to try different dishes next time. And we need to ask for extra nan when we order our food. Running out ain't cool!

Pho Kim Long
We had the combination beef noodle soup, bun bo hue, and BBQ pork with vermicelli. SATISFIED. The "lemonade" was really limeade. Still made fresh and delicious.

Straits San Francisco
We had the chicken curry - traditional singapore curried chicken, potatoes, carrots and the tamarind beef - wok fired filet mignon, brussel sprouts, arugula salad, tamarind sauce. The chicken curry was good but I've had better. The beef was tender and brussel spouts were delicious. I found out I am not a fan of arugula salad. It was not tasty!

Diggers Diner
This is a small place in Brentwood and I had the chicken tortilla soup. The picture is after I mixed it. Pretty good for a hole in the wall diner place. I ate the whole bowl.

Pho Pasteur: Vermicelli With BBQ Beef & Shrimp
This place is located in Union City. The vermicelli was very good. Their portions of beef was generous but there was only 3 shrimps. Coconut juice with the meat was alright. You can tell that it's defrosted packets which I have at home already.

Portage Bay: French Toast
At Portage Bay, there is a toppings bar for your pancakes or french toast. There are big bowls of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and other fruits and also a massive bowl of whipped cream. This was my creation drizzled with syrup. I tried to make it pretty.

Portage Bay: Joes Scramble
Joe's Scramble - Fresh organic baby spinach, freshly grated Parmesano- Reggiano and house-made organic Italian chicken sausage served with a slice of fresh, homemade organic whole wheat toast and roasted organic potatoes. I opted out of the cheese. Scramble was good but the sausage was pretty salty. Potatoes look good but I didn't remember anything spectacular about it. The toast was good.

Portage Bay: Berry Lemonade
Fresh berry lemonade from Portage Bay. It had lots of seeds in it but that means it was made from scratch. It was tart but still lip smacking good.

Toulouse Petit: French Toast
Crème Caramel French Toast - belle de brillet pear caramel, fresh strawberries and pecan butter. This was Eric's meal that I had a bite of. I wouldn't have mind having it all to myself! Very sweet and caramel-ly. Delicious and more like a dessert instead of breakfast.

Toulouse Petit: Crispy Fried Chicken Gumbo
The description on the menu was: Crispy fried chicken gumbo - dark spicy roux, andouille, cayenne, tomato confit. I don't know what all that junk means but it was GOOD. It was very spicy and hearty. The fried chicken was delicious and had the right amount of crunch.

Toulouse Petit: Beignets
Toulouse beignets with powdered sugar and chicory anglaise. Tasted like a yummy donut! I didn't like the dip because it tasted like coffee and I don't drink coffee.

Armandinos Sulami
Seattle has good eats! I had the coppa sandwich which is delicious marbled pork shoulder which has been cured in sugar and salt and then spiced with cayenne and chili pepper. It was a bit salty but excellent paired with the fresh baked bread load and onions and peppers. I had a coke to wash it down with. It was fantastic!

Original Joes at SJC: French Toast
Eric had the french toast at Original Joes. While it may look amazing, the downside to the thickness of the bread is that it gets soggy really quick. Conclusion: good but not great.

Original Joes at SJC: The Original
I had "the original" scramble-type at Original Joes at SJC which consists of fresh spinach, eggs and ground chuck. You can add mushrooms for an additional dollar. The mushrooms came whole and just dumped on top. Who the hell does that? The scramble itself wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. The English muffin was good and crunchy but it didn't make up for the rest of the meal. Thumbs down!

Childhood Candy: Baby Bottle
I guess the official name for this candy is Pelon Pelo Rico. Soft and tangy tamarind soft candy that you push through the top. We'd get them at the San Jose Flea Market when we were younger. Ah, memories.

Coworker Birthday: Ice Cream Mocha Cake
This is mocha ice cream mixed with pieces of angel food cake and sliced almonds and topped with cool whip. A very savory treat to help get through the work day!
