Sushi Boat Union City
I ordered the Alaska roll: avocado and salmon and the dancing queen roll: shrimp tempura with spicy tuna and salmon, tuna and fish eggs on top. Good sized meal for one person. Wasn't anything fantastic but still scrumptious. (P.S. I had dinner by myself and service was very quick.)

Panera Bread
I had the Asian sesame chicken salad which is chicken, romaine lettuce, fresh cilantro, sliced almonds, sesame seeds, crispy wonton strips and tossed with Asian sesame vinaigrette. It comes with a choice of chips, bread or an apple. I picked the bread. Add a ice green tea and it becomes a delicious fulfilling lunch.

Coworker Birthday: Yellow Pineapple Cake
One good thing working in office full of women is the birthday cakes that get made. This is a simple yellow cake with pineapple and coconut layer topped with whipped cream. It's different and yummy and not too heavy.

Dinner at the Chu's: Chinese New Years
Chinese New Years was celebrated in true Asian style with the yummy dishes that Jennifer and Eric Chu made. Everything was very good except for the chicken being a bit over boiled and tough. But it's alright since it let me practice my barbarian eating skills!

Berkeley Thai Temple
We went to the Thai temple in Berkeley on Sunday January 22, 2012. The yellow chicken curry was really good and will be ordered next time. No papaya salad or pad Thai next time since they're only ok. The pork and green beans were weird. Noodle soups were good but they skimped on the noddles! Cheap! The roti, Thai tea and mango and sticky rice are always a good buys. Must try the panang curry next time as well.

Gordon Biersch
I had the seafood cobb salad shrimp and crab over a traditional cobb salad (with no cheese) served with märzen balsamic vinaigrette. I think next time, I would choose the olive lemon vinaigrette which would seem to go better with the seafood. Overall pretty tasty and points for serving the salad in a bowl with good mixing room. Their strawberry lemonade was good but mines be better. Theirs is not as flavorful.

The Prolific Oven: Rivermark Special
Prolific Oven has become a regular breakfast spot. I always get the Rivermark's Special: scrambled eggs with chicken apple sausage, fresh spinach, onions and mushrooms. It comes with hash browns and a slice of fresh baked toast. One plus is that the hash browns are always crispy. I have learned to bring a zip lock bag with me to take the toast home. I'm always too full to finish the whole meal!

Akane Japanese Restaurant
This restaurant in Los Altos is packed on a Friday night! Good thing I made reservations! I got the akane roll which had spicy tuna and avocado. I forgot the name of the other roll but it had shrimp tempura and avocado as well. Both were simple yet very delicious. One strange thing I noticed was that they made you pick from soup OR salad for the dinner combination. What Japanese restaurant does that? Stingy!

Chili's Guacamole and Salsa
The last time I ordered chili's guacamole, I was pleasantly surprised as to how good it was. I had ordered it from the San Jose location and had taken it to go. This time it was in Union City and it wasn't quite as delicious. Not sure what happened but still worth ordering though.

TK Noodle
We went to TK Noodle on Tully Road in San Jose on January 18, 2012. Man, was it disappointing! TK Noodle has gone downhill and is no longer delicious. Jennifer and Eric got the #1 combination rice stick soup and I got #8 combination noodle soup. The broth was watered down and tasteless. Warning: Do not be fooled by the photo! It was flavorless!

Sonora Grill
Sonora Grill is located across the street from iFly Utah. They had three types of salsa that was complimentary. The guacamole was good but could have used more spiciness to it. I had a bowl of pozole for lunch. It was tasty but since it was my first time having it, I have nothing to compare it to. Overall it was a good lunch.

Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill
This is a grilled chicken salad from Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill located in the center where iFly Utah is in. It's served with a flour tortilla on the bottom with rice, salsa, guacamole, cilantro, tortilla chips topped with a cilantro-lime vinaigrette dressing. All the ingredients were fresh and the dressing was amazing!

Original Joes at SJC: Eggs Benedict
I got their egg benedict and it was good but then second benedict, the eggs were over cooked and it wasn't runny! Disappointing. Potatoes were in bite sized pieces and was delicious. The fresh squeezed orange juice was refreshing and tasty.

Gayle's Bakery: Lemon-Raspberry Cake
I forgot that we got this cake on January 9, 2012. It was ok. The cake part was a bit dry but the frosting was very creamy and tasty. The raspberries on top did not stick to the cake during packaging. Rookie mistake. On the plus side, the cake was very pretty. Maybe next time we will pick something better.

Dar Bar
On January 11, 2012, we went to Dar Bar in Palo Alto. Dar Bar has become one of my favorite spots for Indian. No photo for Dar Bar because Indian food is not very picturesque. Chicken curry was the best. Jennifer had the butter chicken and wants to try the chicken tiki marsala next time. Eric Chu got lamb vindaloo, he don't wants to order it again!

Los Gatos Cafe
On January 9, 2012, we had breakfast at Los Gatos Cafe. I got the scramble with a carrot walnut loaf, both were good. Eric Chu got the crabcake and it was meh. Jennifer's veggie benedict was the best but the muffin get soggy quick.
Tips for next time:
Try another baked good and not the carrot walnut loaf.
Eric Chu wants to try flank steak.

Dinner At The Chu's: Tacos
We made tacos at the Chu residence on January 6, 2012. It was fabulous! We had beef, chicken and fish with loads of toppings. It was agreed that the fish was the best.
Tips for next time:
Cut chicken into small pieces so it cooks faster.
Don't cook beef as long, we want the meat moist!
No sour cream - Jennifer no likes.
Amount of food was way too much for just 3 people.

Visiting Tida For Thai Food
2012 started off right with a visit to Tida in Fairfield on January 2, 2012. We had hot plate and grilled up chicken, beef and shrimp. Pairing up the cooked meats with veggies was delicious. The highlight of the meal was the papaya salad eaten with pork rinds. Absolutely mouth watering! Dessert consisted of a Thai favorite, kanom krok. Not pictured was a coconut custard-ish pie. Only Eric Chu found it good enough to take home.
